Unidentified gunmen have launched an attack on the campaign office of All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai.
The attack is said to have occurred at the office, located at Isa Kaita Road, Ungwar Sarki at about 10pm on Thursday, April 9, 2015.
According to a press statement released by El-Rufai’s campaigns, Samuel Aruwan, the attack is believed to have been carried out by sponsored thugs.
Aruwan also said that the incident occurred just hours after the APC candidate warned of impending attacks being organized by the Governor Mukhtar Ramalan Yero.
"The APC has already demonstrated its acceptability and electoral might. Everyone knows that the APC stands poised to win Kaduna State comprehensively,” Aruwan said.
12 persons were reportedly injured in the attack and are currently receiving treatment at Garkuwa Specialist Hospital, Kaduna.
