The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said that it has been humbled by the President Goodluck Jonathan’s defeat in the March 28 presidential elections.
Jonathan lost to All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Muhammadu Buhari by over two million votes.
The PDP also stated that it had learnt valuable lessons from its defeat at the polls.
This was contained in a series of tweets posted by PDP National Chairman, Ahmadu Mu’azu.
“We
are humbled by the 28th of March decision of many Nigerians and promise
#NeverAgain to let you down. We will reform our party,” he tweeted.
“We
have learnt some very useful lessons with the March 28th elections
& want to assure Nigerians you will see a new PDP. Thank you for
your support to our party over the years. We will still need a strong
opposition to keep the new government in check,” he added.
Muazu also urged all the party’s supporters to vote for PDP candidates in the upcoming April 11 elections.
