Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos
State says he is optimistic that the All Progressives Congress will win
the governorship and the House of Assembly elections in the state.
Fashola spoke after casting his votes
along with his wife, Abimbola, and son, Ademola, at the polling unit
002, State Senior Grammar School, Itolo, at about 2.39pm.
He said the conclusion about voter turnout could only be accurately made after voting and counting of votes.
He said, “By scientific measures, what
percentage of people actually came out for accredidation and how many
people came back to vote. That will only be possible to know after the
votes are counted. So, the questions about voter turnout are a little
premature.”
The governor added that he was optimistic about the fate of the APC in the goverorship and the House of Assembly elections.
He said, “I have always been optimistic in any contest, so I am optimistic about these elections.”
