A 103-year-old woman, Marie Hunt of Spring Green, Wisconsin, has recently graduated with her high school diploma.
The woman received an honorary degree from River Valley High School 87 years after she would’ve have normally received the educational achievement. Hunt had completed middle school (up to eight grade) but had been forced to drop out of school and help raise her eight younger siblings instead.
While she has led a happy life, she says she has always regretted never completing her high school education so Hunt’s nurse worked with the River Valley School to help make her dream become a reality.
“It’s something I’ve always wanted to do,” Hunt Said. “And I didn’t have the opportunity to go, and now, 100 years later, here I am!”
She is also considering dabbling into some higher education now that has officially completed her high school education.
Her message; Never give up on your dreams!
