Shocker: Governor Fayose dares President Buhari’s wife

             The wife of President Muhammadu Buhari, Aisha Buhari, has given the Governor of the Ekiti state Ayo Fayose, five days to apologise or face legal action. The ultimatum which Mrs. Buhari issued to the governor, demanding to drop his accusations, expired on June 29, Wednesday.

Senate fires Back: If Our Leaders Are on Trial, We Are on Trial

The Senate has reacted to the Presidency's position, insisting that the current trial of Bukola Saraki and Ike Ekweremadu was aimed at forcing a leadership change in the upper chamber.

Committee on Media and Publicity, led by Senator Aliyu Abdullahi, in response to SGF, said the Senate was being targeted to intimidate the legislature and force a leadership change.

Sometime in 2001, singer Burna Boy was arrested by the police in UK for allegedly being part of a gang and stabbing someone to death. He was tried as a minor and sent to jail. 11 months later, he was released and given two months parole plus community service for ‘good behaviour’.

Fresh N90bn Bailout: Seven States Meet FG Conditions

Weeks after the Federal Government announced the N90bn conditional loan facility to be given to 36 states, only seven states have been able to meet requirements stipulated to access the bailout fund.

Investigations showed that majority of the states were struggling to meeting up with the conditions set for disbursement of the loan facility, especially because they lack proper accountability.

Mr. President who stated that there were many factions of the Niger Delta Militants also said that the groups were armed with sophisticated weapons and that the economy is badly affected by their acts.

Three persons have been kidnapped by a gang of armed men who claimed to be members of a Niger Delta militant group, along the Lagos/Ogun waterways. The victims, identified as a politician in Obadero Akesan area of Lagos, a naval officer and a lady, were among passengers that boarded a boat at Adeckson bus stop, Ojo in Lagos State, to Moshe village, on the outskirt in Ogun State.

Lawyer sues Governor for joining workers’ strike

A lawyer, Kabir Akingbolu has sued Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti state at the Federal High Court in Lagos state, for joining the ongoing workers’ strike in the state.

Akingbolu said Fayose’s action amounts to abdication of his duties as Governor.
The Ekiti state Governor in June 2016, joined the civil servants’ strike after efforts to make them return to work proved abortive.
Fayose also explained that he decided to join the workers to express his concern for their plight.

There's No Food In Nigeria; Lift the Ban on Importation of Rice – Sultan of Sokoto

The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, has urged the Nigeria Customs Service to consider lifting the ban on importation of rice through the land borders.

The Sultan made the call when the Comptroller-General of the Service, Col. Hameed Ali (retd), visited him in his palace in Sokoto on Monday. He said that the order had brought hardship on the Nigerian masses as it had aggravated scarcity of the commodity in the country.
